Set against a dark, mysterious backdrop of teal and petrol, strange, elongated figures hover on the verge of connection. Their bodies, partially glowing with vibrant layers of color, reach toward each other in silent invitation, yet their hands never quite touch. Their eyes, intense and searching, avoid meeting those of their counterparts, as if uncertain, hesitant, or waiting for something to shift. This piece delves into the delicate space between longing and fear, where the possibility of connection hangs in the air but remains just out of reach. It speaks to our human uncertainty—how we often stand at the edge of intimacy, unsure whether to step forward and make a promise, or stay in the safe distance of maybe. Are these figures aliens from another world, or reflections of our own searching, uncertain souls?

These two thought-provoking pieces delve into the struggle of conforming to societal expectations. Each figure, with its elongated, distorted limbs, contorts itself to fit within the confines of its "box," measuring the limits and stretching to make things work. The exaggerated poses highlight the effort and discomfort of shaping oneself to align with external norms. Measuring Up invites viewers to reflect on the pressures of conformity and the personal cost of bending to fit societal standards. What "boxes" do we measure ourselves against, and what do we sacrifice in the process?

In the realm of sleep, all is peaceful... but is it? Shadows of Slumber invites you into a dreamlike world where the boundaries between rest and reality blur. The main character, lost in a peaceful slumber, is surrounded by surreal landscapes and light, ghostly hues. Yet, lurking in the shadows are googly-eyed faces peering curiously, almost jealously, at the sleeping figure. Are these figures nightmares creeping into the peaceful void, or are they the people and realities we try to escape from while we rest? The series invites you to reflect on your own relationship with sleep: Are you drawn to dive into the subconscious, or do you fear the unknown that waits when you close your eyes? In your own life, what do you dream of? Are the watchers the fears you try to avoid, or are they simply reflections of the world that won’t let you go, even in sleep?

Each figure, bent and stretched into exaggerated poses, appears determined to reach the edges of their canvas, testing boundaries, fitting into constraints, or simply making do. The humor in their contorted forms invites a chuckle, while the deeper message asks: What uncomfortable positions do we find ourselves in while navigating life’s challenges? Uncomfortable Position 1–3 is a lighthearted exploration of adaptability, resilience, and the universal struggle to "fit" while staying true to oneself.

This vibrant triptych captures the fleeting, fragmented nature of everyday life. Abstract shapes, floating human figures, birds, and doors create a tapestry of moments—pieces of a day that seem random yet interconnected. The artwork reflects how we often tumble through life, not fully aware of or able to make sense of everything happening around us. Yet, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, there is beauty—a quiet reminder that life doesn’t need to be fully understood to be appreciated. In "Lost Connection", humor and melancholy converge in a poignant commentary on the paradox of modern communication. The boxed faces—resembling old-fashioned TVs or computers with quirky antennas—evoke a sense of both nostalgia and disconnect. Despite our technological achievements and constant internet connectivity, the faces appear lost and empty, yearning for something deeper. The painting invites viewers to reflect on what it truly means to connect—human to human—beyond the screens and signals. It offers a smile, but also a moment of introspection: are our "connections" really working?

This surreal and symbolic painting tells the story of transformation and purpose. A heron with a human head spreads its wings, preparing to take flight and join others soaring in the distance. The foreground, with its flat, two-dimensional water inspired by Asian art, represents the mundane and restrained aspects of life—a space that feels static and unfulfilled. As the heron rises, it transitions into a richly textured, three-dimensional world, embodying the journey toward a deeper, more meaningful existence. Heron Heroes invites the viewer to reflect on the courage it takes to break free from the ordinary and embrace one’s true purpose.

This series began with a discovery: kitchen towels left behind in the house I now call home. Their origins and the stories they held were unknown to me, yet they quickly became indispensable tools in my studio: as Painting Rags. Over months, they absorbed excess paint, cleaned my brushes, and caught accidents as I worked on other pieces. Almost unnoticed and discarded again, they turned into beautiful canvases of their own right, which I then used as underpaintings for these works. By enhancing their accidental compositions with intentional marks, I transformed them into finished artworks, connecting the dots between their past utility and their new identity. Each piece feels like a conversation between past and present, accident and intention, reminding me of the power of transformation and the beauty hidden in the overlooked.

Every moment holds a whisper—a fleeting thought, a passing breeze, an inner truth waiting to be felt. This series of mixed-media works captures the dance of the external world and the internal landscape of the artist’s mind. Through layers of vibrant color, texture, and spontaneous mark-making, the pieces reflect both the ebb and flow of the wind outside and the subtle shifts within—the brushstrokes and crayon marks echoing the layers of awareness that shaped them. Whispers of the Moment is an invitation to witness both the visible and the unseen, capturing the interaction between the artist’s moment of creation and the viewer’s present experience. Just as the wind carries unseen currents, each piece holds layers of truth—felt, rather than spoken. What truths can you feel in your own moment of awareness, as you stand before this piece? What layers lie waiting to be uncovered in your own experience?

I create art that reflects the humor, complexity, and beauty of being human. My process is intuitive and layered, guided by a deep connection to the present moment and the subconscious. I’m inspired by transformation and surprise —of materials, of ideas, of perspectives—and by the unspoken energy shared between living beings. Each piece invites you to step through boundaries, explore your own narrative, and find meaning in the different layers of perception. I believe art should challenge and delight, offering more questions than answers, and inspire us to have the courage to live authentically. Where there’s art, there is a moment of reflection - a much needed opportunity to tap into our souls and listen to our inner voices.
